Abstract:

Young Mongolian female teachers implemented a simple language tool that opened the ethical dimension in everyday conversations. The nexus of observing relationships in a familiar school setting embedded in the unfamiliar Mongolian cultural context highlighted the cultural responses, from which the barriers to inclusivity could be viewed in sharp relief.

About the Presenter

Dorrie Hancock has a PhD in Applied Ethics from the Queensland University of Technology. She has taught children and trained teachers in Australia, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Her focus in on the moral and spiritual education of children with a view to inclusive relationships and flourishing lives.
