NZWRI Postgraduate Awards

Every year the Institute support postgraduate research students while they undertake honours/masters/doctoral research in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

This year the successful recipients of the awards are De Wet Van der Westhuizen and Paulette Brazzale. De Wet is completing a Masters of Business with a focus on the labour market and the implications of the minimum wage and its' outcomes. His research topic is: Minimum Wages in New Zealand: Employment Effects, Measurement Errors, and Enrolment Decisions. Paulette is a completing a Masters of Science with organisational change and its' consequences at the centre of her research. Her research topic is: Enhancing Organisational Change: Investigating how people transition through change and how their responses are interpreted.  

The Institute recognises the dedicated work of these two researchers and grants each of them:

  • Up to $3,000 to contribute to professional development.
  • An offer of employment as a Research Assistant with one of the Institute’s research groups up to the value of $3,000 worth of research hours.
  • Tenure of the award for one calendar year from the date of acceptance
